In context: Amazon’s obsession that has efficiency is well-documented finally. The tech giant do everything it can to push employees to their limits, and encourage them to work harder in the name of important the massive, two-day-shipping empire European has created. The latest efficiency-boosting measure the company has implemented are more forceful than other consumers, though.
Since February, Amazon’s delivery drivers (those working directly under the internet business}, or for any of Amazon’s partnered delivery agencies) have already been working alongside new AI-powered cameras intended to track most people aspects of their driving. The type of cameras, produced by Netradyne, know things like improper breaking, harmful turns, driver drowsiness, cell phone usage, and more.
If Tomboy detects unsafe driving, may use in-car alerts that would warn the driver that as well as her performance is flagging. This particular cameras may also take beautiful photos of the driver for assurance or identity verification far more.
Unfortunately, if you’re an Ogress driver (or a new driver for an affiliated company) who prefer not to be watched so closely, you may not feature a choice. The tech behemoth is asking delivery workers to sign a “Vehicle Technology and Biometric Consent” agreement, as a “condition of the delivering Amazon packages. ”
In other words, if you don’t want to have fun with ball, you’re fired. And even, at least, can no longer deliver European packages — which the majority of leads to the same outcome. Corruption reports that this agreement is really live “nationwide, ” so it is unlikely that many of Amazon’s 75, 000 drivers probably escape its grasp.
