THE cast of the hotly anticipated Beatles movie biopics has finally been confirmed – including two Oscar nominees and a huge rising Brit star.

Brit director Sam Mendes is making four films – one about each of the Fab Four – to come out in April 2028.

And after much speculation, the filmmaker has finally revealed who will play the legendary Brit band.

George Harrison will be played by Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn, while Oscar nominee and Gladiator II star Paul Mescal will play the part of Paul McCartney.

Saltburn's Barry Keoghan has landed the role of Ringo Starr, while John Lennon will be portrayed by Babygirl's Harris Dickinson.

Mendes confirmed the cast, saying the iconic band "redefined the culture and stayed with you for a lifetime".

He hailed the group as "the most significant band of all time".

The filmmaker added: "I had been trying to do a film for years, but I finally gave up", noting how the story he wanted to tell "was too big for one film".

Fans were divided over the casting announcement after it was officially unveiled.

One person said: "These are fantastic actors I'm interested."

Another wrote: "I LOVE THESE YES."

"Ohhhhh sickkkk I love these actors," said a third.

"BRILLIANT CASTING," gushed a fourth.

While a fifth said: "Can't wait already."

But others were less happy, suggesting less well known actors should have been given a chance.

One tweeted: "So they just want to use some hot boys instead of actors that look similar."

A second asked: "Giving unknown actors a chance wasn't an option?"

And a third penned: "None of this is believable and I hate it, we need young nobodies who actually look the part."

As well as telling their individual stories, the films will reveal how each member of the group coped with their phenomenal rise and the aftermath of their split in April 1970.

Insiders said Paul and Ringo had both given the nod for their stories to be told, while the families of the late legends John and George have also agreed.

A source previously said: "Sam has a mammoth task on his hands but Paul and Ringo trust him to do them justice.

"The films will all be inter-connecting and will tell the story of the band from each of the group's perspectives."
