Over the years, the D'Amelio family has only become more popular among fans, and they are now a household name with their own Hulu show.

Charli D'Amelio, who was born on May 1, 2004, was a competitive dancer before she rose to fame back in 2019.

Daughter of photographer, Heidi D'Amelio, and former Republican Connecticut Senate, Marc D'Amelio, the social media personality became an overnight sensation after posting low-production videos on TikTok.

Dixie D'Amelio is the older of the two sisters, born on August 12, 2001, who has also gained social media success.

Blowing up on TikTok

The family's fame quickly heightened when Charli began posting videos on TikTok in 2019, ultimately leading to her becoming the most-followed creator on the platform in March 2020.

As of 2024, she is the second most-followed person on TikTok and has over 155 million followers.

Forbes has also estimated that Charli is the world's highest-paid TikTok star.

She became the first-ever user on the social media app to hit 100 million followers, and in December 2019, both sisters joined the Hype House when it first launched.

Around twenty top Gen Z influencers were placed under one roof to create more content collaboratively, increasing the sisters' following and online presence even further.

Then in 2020, Charli and her family were signed by the Hollywood Agency UTA.

That same year, Dixie joined the cast of a YouTube drama created by Bratz, and Charli was invited on The Jimmy Fallon show.

From TikTok to the small screen

In September 2021, Hulu released a new reality TV series called The D'Amelio Show, which followed the lives of the D'Amelio family as they tried to navigate their newfound stardom.

Portraying the family's trials and tribulations whilst being thrust into the Hollywood limelight, the show has run for three seasons.

The most recent season aired in September and October 2023.

Navigating their sudden rise to fame, the show has even seen the sisters discussing themes relating to mental health.

Whilst the show has been criticised by some in 2020 when the TikTok stars appeared to behave rudely to their personal chef, Aaron May.

In September 2024, the latest season of Selling Sunset saw both Charli and Dixie make a cameo.

Their parents turned to the Los Angeles-based real estate agents for help.

Will there be a fourth season of The D'Amelio Show?

Whilst season one had eight episodes and concluded with Charli's 17th birthday, The D'Amelio show has gone on to have two more seasons.

It was then announced in June 2024 that it was cancelled.

At the time of publication, the reason for the cancellation is unclear. However, during the season 3 finale, Charli wanted to step away from reality television.

"I'm at a point in my life where I really want to figure out how to balance my work life a little bit more," the social media star said at the time.
