Young died on the scene on the Ventura Freeway in Los Angeles, while the other driver was hospitalized and survived, his publicist, Paul Christensen, said

He was a fixture on Hollywood red carpets, but he got his start as an actor in the late 1990s.

Young appeared on shows like Grey's Anatomy and Boy Meets World, as well as movies including Love & Basketball, Charlie's Angels, and I Love You, Man.

On Grey's Anatomy, Young played an appendectomy patient in a Season 5 episode that aired in 2008.

"Brad's passion for both the arts and the people behind them was unmatched," Christensen said in a statement.

"He lived his mission of keeping creativity alive, and his legacy will continue through Dream Loud Official."

Young founded Dream Loud Official as an arts education program in schools across America.

The grassroots initiative aims to remind people that "creativity is not a luxury but an essential part of education," according to its website.

Young is survived by his brother, Chris.

He was known for photographing celebrities during photo shoots, galas, premieres, and red carpet events.

Young worked on projects for Vogue, Elle, Vanity Fair, The Hollywood Reporter, Harper's Bazaar, and other publications.

Tributes to the photographer poured in from celebrities he worked with, including on shows like General Hospital and Days of Our Lives.

Actor Bryan Craig, who previously played Morgan on General Hospital, shared his condolences for Young on social media.

"This is never the type of article you want to post for someone you know," Craig wrote.

"This is devastating. R.I.P. to a great guy that always had a smile on."

Chris McKenna, who plays Jack on General Hospital, shared some of Young's pictures with a tribute to him.

"These were taken just a couple weeks ago by the late @bradley206 we won't see another like him," he said.

Another General Hospital actor, Parry Shan, wrote, "Brad Everett Young was one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever met."

"But the one trait that made him truly stand out in this business, often filled with cynicism, was his indomitable positivity."

"He was always striving to make the situation better."
