SINGER Jessie J has shared a huge career update amid her ongoing cancer battle.

The singer was left devastated at discovering she had breast cancer earlier this year which forced her to take some time out from performing and postpone her planned tour dates.

Those closest to Jessie rallied around her amid the news of her illness but the resiliant star has now shared a huge career announcement with fans.

The Price Tag hitmaker has confirmed the release of her next album in the midst of her cancer fight.

Jessie will be releasing her album, Don't Tease Me With A Good Time, on November 28.

It marks the first full-length album from the star in seven years with Jessie sharing a first look at the album artwork with her millions of followers online.

The album is already available to pre-order and marks a triumphant career move for the star despite her difficult year.

The pop star, 37, had a mastectomy earlier this year after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

At the start of this month, she made her first stage appearance since the operation when she dazzled the crowds with a stunning performance at Radio 2 in the Park.

Before today's album reveal, Jessie teased what she had planned for her fifth record as well as giving an update on her recovery journey during an interview on Capital Xtra.

She said: "I'm honestly good, guys. I feel like I've been through a lot healthwise in my life.

"This is one of the first things I've gone through publicly that other people have gone through. It's been an opportunity to show people how I deal with things like this."

Jessie continued: "It's a personal journey. Everyone's body's going to do it differently.

"Recovery's been difficult, especially having Sky.

"His dad's been away working and that's been tough because I'm not supposed to pick him up."

Rather than take a backwards step, Jessie said she was keen to jump back into music and keep it flowing.

Teasing what fans can expect for her fifth release, she said the genres are all over the place, from heavy R&B and acoustic to big pop songs.

"It's been a long time coming," she said. "It was supposed to come out in '21 and it didn't happen.

"I got the final mix this morning, finally I can breathe. It feels like a journey of the last five years."

Jessie's album confirmation comes after she was forced to postpone tour dates she had planned for later in the year as a result of medical appointments she is required to attend as part of her cancer journey.

The star was forced to axe her US tour entirely as well as postponing European shows until 2026 as one of her planned surgeries falls in October – which is in the middle of her European tour dates.

She told fans on social media: "I'm so sorry, I feel frustrated and sad.

"But I need to be better, I need to be healed and this is the right decision to make."

Jessie's first album, Who You Are, was released in 2011 and contained the hit singles, Do It Like A Dude, Price Tag and Nobody's Perfect.

She followed it up two years later with Alive – which contained the Tinie Tempah and Big Sean collaboration, Wild.

2014 saw Jessie's biggest hit with Bang Bang – her track with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj which led her third album, Sweet Talker.

In 2018, she released both R.O.S.E and This Christmas Day, but neither made an impact on the charts.
