SEAN "Diddy" Combs has begged a judge for mercy in a four-page apology letter ahead of his sentencing today.

The disgraced music mogul, 55, faces up to 11 years in jail after a shocking eight-week trial ended with him being found guilty of transporting women to participate in drug-fueled sex marathons.

Combs was convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

But he was acquitted of his most serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking – meaning he avoided a much lengthier sentence.

In a last-ditch attempt to land a more lenient sentencing, Combs penned a emotional letter to Judge Arun Subramanian.

In the four-page letter, he apologised "for all of the hurt and pain that I have caused".

Adding that he is now a reformed man following over a year of being incarcerated in a Brooklyn jail.

He was referencing an assault on his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, which formed part of the bombshell trial.

Combs wrote: "I literally lost my mind. I'm sorry for that and always will be.

"My domestic violence will always be a heavy burden that I will have to forever carry."

He also apologised to an anonymous victim who testified during the trial as he blamed his actions on drugs.

"I lost my way. My downfall was rooted in my selfishness. I have been humbled and broken to my core," Combs penned.

The rapper is set to speak in court today when he learns his fate.

The prosecution has recommended he faces 11 years behind bars – despite the maximum penalty for his crimes being 20 years.

Combs' lawyers are asking for him to be handed a two-year sentence.

If agreed, he could be released later this month after already served 13 months behind bars after being denied bail.

The sentencing hearing starts at 10 am ET (3pm UK time) at a Manhattan courthouse.
