In a statement, the star's heartbroken family confirmed he was "suddenly and unexpectedly taken from us".

Lodge was best known as a musician and songwriter for the iconic rock band, the Moody Blues

In 2018, the singer was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
