LOUIS Tomlinson has broken his silence on a whether a One Direction reunion will happen – a year after Liam Payne's tragic death.

The singer, 33, revealed that Liam had been "campaigning" for the band to reunite – 10 years after they last performed together in Hong Kong during the On the Road Again Tour.

Liam, 31, fell 45 feet from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Wednesday, October 16.

Louis appeared on the latest episode of The Diary Of A CEO, where he joined host Steven Bartlett to discuss the lows and highs of fame.

Steven asked Louis if a reunion will one day be on the cards.

Louis replied: "Never say never, right, but I'm just not sure it would be right to him [Liam].

"Say for the sake of argument, 25 year's time, it's like a f*****g Oasis thing, they offer us an arm and a leg, and they're like, 'Come back and do this many shows', I don't know.

"It's just completely put a pin in all of that.

"And the irony is, there was no one campaigning for One Direction to get back more than Liam. I would say I came in a close second."

Reflecting on his brotherhood with Liam, Louis admitted he had so much admiration for Liam as a person, friend and bandmate.

Louis said: "When I put up my post about him [Liam], I really wanted him to be remembered the way that he should be remembered.

"I could just go on and talk all day about how amazing he was, but I think we all looked up to him.

"I don't think we would have been brave enough to say at that age when I was in the band, I think I would've had too much pride, but we all looked up to him massively."

Speaking about the devastating moment he found out about Liam's death, Louis said: "In the car, in LA. I found out through Niall [Horan].

"I had the same feeling that I had with Felicity, and I think anyone has this when they're around someone who's struggling; my 150 per cent wasn't nearly enough.

"And that's when it's my own arrogance thinking that I could have helped really, because it was so much deeper than what I could have done for him. He was definitely struggling at that time in his life."

As it approaches a year since Liam's passing, his closest friends have been remembering the star.

Nicole Scherzinger has revealed her texts with Liam on the day of his death.

The pair became friends after she put him in One Direction on the X Factor 16 years ago.

But they grew closer together on the talent contest Building The Band which was filmed months before his death last October.

Nicole has revealed she found about his death just before taking to the stage for a performance of Sunset Boulevard in New York.

In an interview with The Times Time, Nicole explained: "I just adored Liam. He had such a good heart.

"I barely knew him when I put One Direction together. I just saw these talented boys and was like, 'I'm coming out of a girl group — I know the power of a group."

Talking about the text conversation they had on the day of his death, she added: "I'd known he was in Argentina. It was just chit-chat and pretty light."

Though she was devastated to hear of his death, Nicole said: "The show must go on."

This comes after Liam's girlfriend Kate Cassidy has shared AI pics of herself with the late star, and said the snaps are "a blessing and a curse".

Influencer Kate, 25, had been dating Liam, 31, for two years when he died.

She had been with him in Argentina until two days before his death.

The grieving girlfriend often posts sweet pictures of her beloved Liam, as she tries to come to terms with his death.
