MACHINE Gun Kelly left Radio 1's Melvin Odoom and Charlie Hedges in hysterics during a chaotic Live Lounge appearance.

The US music star, 35, was on top form in the studio, performing his catchy anthem Vampire Diaries and a cover of Gorillaz' Feel Good Inc.

But when it came to his interview, MGK's openness stunned just about everyone.

Charlie asked the heavily tattooed singer if there were any areas on his body that haven't been inked yet.

Without hesitation, MGK – real name Colson Baker – answered: "Yeah, my shaft."

It prompted fits of laughter as the confused American struggled to understand the hysteria, saying: "Do you want the answer or not? I'm using radio words, dude."

All the while, Melvin proclaimed: "I love this guy."

He added: "It's our own fault. He's a rock star, what did you expect?"

MGK said: "What did you want me to say, my knee?"

Charlie proceeded to ask if his knees were inked, with MGK confirming they are, front and back, as are his armpits.

But then he conceded that he could have said his toes and bum instead of his manhood for a more family-friendly answer.

MGK began his music career as a rapper before changing to a more punk-rock sound.

His latest album, Lost Americana, came out in August and a trailer ahead of its release was narrated by none other than Bob Dylan.

Earlier in the year, MGK became a dad for the second time when fiancée Megan Fox, 38, gave birth to their daughter, Saga.

Fatherhood and a renewed relationship with Fox might have subconsciously seeped into the surprisingly upbeat set of songs on Lost Americana.

Speaking to Vogue, MGK admitted he was keen to drift away from moody, sombre numbers, especially against the backdrop of a world filled with uncertainty and tension.

He said: "Well, look: I think the state of the world is really drab. And with the trajectory of how my life started, and then where it went—climbing up and then crashing down, constant ebbs and flows—I have every right to match the drabness of the world.

"But I don't like being predictable, or a stereotype. I wanted to create an art piece or, like, a mosaic of art pieces—the music videos—that would make people react, and react with surprise.

"I just think sad boy, broken boy…it's all too obvious and it's too easy."

The change in sound has paid off, with lead single Cliché, and its joyous video featuring MGK dancing in a car wash, reflecting happier, more content Baker.
